National Vascular Physicians
BETTER SERVICE FOR PATIENTS & REFERRING DOCTORS
At National Vascular Physicians, interventional radiology treatments are performed in one of our convenient outpatient centers using minimally invasive techniques and guided by medical imaging. Unlike surgery, these treatments are performed completely inside the body, using tiny catheters and instruments that are navigated through the body’s bloodstream to the precise location being treated.
Because general anesthesia and surgical incisions are not required, you are able to return home the same day as your procedure and get back to your life quickly. There is no lengthy recovery, no hospital stay and no scar. In most cases, our procedures offer comparable outcomes to surgery but at a much lower risk and a lower overall cost.
Communication and transparency are key at NVP. We partner with you and your healthcare team throughout your entire medical journey – from start to finish – and offer treatment options uniquely tailored to you. No more frustration trying to schedule an appointment or waiting for information. We can put you in touch with one of our specialists quickly – sometimes even the same day.
Contact us today to schedule your personalized, comprehensive consultation.
We offer both in-person and telehealth appointments.

State-of-the-art outpatient centers
National Vascular Physicians offers three treatment locations, in National Harbor, MD, Rockville, MD and Roanoke, VA. Each center is outfitted with a full complement of procedure, imaging and safety equipment. Highly trained board-certified physicians and nurses are always present during your procedure and short recovery. Our physicians can also perform procedures in hospitals when required.
Our outpatient centers are designed around your comfort and convenience. Unlike a hospital, there is ample, free parking and easy access to the facility. There are no confusing corridors to navigate, no distracted individuals caring for the very ill. Our staff is focused on you and your procedure and will do everything in their power to ensure your short stay with us is as pleasant and efficient as possible.

The most dynamic field in medicine
Interventional radiology is one of the most innovative fields in medicine, with new procedures being developed and perfected every year. There are now interventional radiology treatments for nearly every organ system within the body.
Interventional radiology emerged from diagnostic radiology back in the 1960s. The first transluminal angioplasty to open a clogged artery was performed in 1964, and the field has since expanded tremendously, innovating treatments for a wide range of diseases and health conditions that include cancer, peripheral artery disease, venous disease, pelvic congestion syndrome, testicular varicoceles, uterine fibroids, enlarged prostate, and a number of musculoskeletal issues like osteoarthritis of the knee and spine fractures.
